Top Ten Reasons to own the Xbox 360

10 Controllers
Ok so this reason does depend on preference, and gaming preference as well. While I like the PS3 controller, I prefer the 360 controller for shooters and racers. The triggers seem to have a better response and seem be easier to hold down. Throw in the staggered analog sticks, and you have a winner.
9 Price
The initial price for the 360 (Arcade unit) is much more affordable then the PS3. Hell the $199 price is cheaper than Wii. If you have limited starting cash, the 360 is the way to go. However it should be noted that Microsoft does love to charge for accessories. Toss in Live and the experience can ratchet up in cost.
8 Media Center
Watching movies from your PC in your living room is a win. Add in music and pictures and you have a device that the whole family can use. My wife is not much of a gamer, but she will play UNO and listen to music on the 360. That says a lot. How many other ‘moms’ are making the 360 the center of their living room?
7 Twitter/Facebook
While not a feature yet, this is something to look forward to as a 360 owner. The ability to access your Twitter/Facebook account directly from the 360, again is helping to make the 360 a central figure in the living room. Plus sharing achievements instantly with your gamer pals will make the addictive nature of the gamer score even larger. (Bragging rights anyone?)
6 Project Natal
This is Microsoft’s answer to the Wii. Will it attract a more casual crowd? Only time will tell. But it is intriguing to see if Microsoft can pull this one off. The capabilities of direct motion are intriguing. Hopefully it amounts more too just standing around in your living room, waving your arms like an idiot.
5 Achievements/awards
This is my bread and butter. Achievement points are highly addictive and for a certain type of gamer leads to playing games just for the score. I have spent an extra amount of time playing games like Bullet Witch just to up my score. Now add in the awards you can win to display with your avatars and Microsoft will continue to tap into the competitive side of gamers.
4 Netflix
Another feature that my wife and kids love to use. How many of you have logged in to see half your friends are just watching movies on Netflix? This is just one more reason why my Xbox seems to be logging more than 5 hours a day.
3 Install Base
With the second largest install base of this generation, you can bet that the support for games is locked in. If you are an online type of player, this only helps to ensure that the competition will be logged in as well. The large install base has also forced developers/publishers to bring over games that were once exclusive to other platforms. (Final Fantasy anyone?)
2 Live
The premier online game experience. Period. Offering more and better features then the other guys. But with a price. I cannot defend the amount that Microsoft charges to utilize this experience. Live is very love or hate in this regard. If you are a budget type gamer, I could see bulking at the add $60 a year. However you will miss out on chatting with your friends, downloading demos and kicking ass in Modern Warfare 2.
1 The Games
Speaking of Modern Warfare 2, this is where the Xbox 360 shines. As it should. (Why would you by a GAMING console with no games?) I am not saying that Microsoft’s exclusives top the other guys, not at all. But you would be amiss to not play Halo, Gears of War, Forza or Fable 2. (Plus family friendly exclusive Bajo-Kazooie.)
